Washington State Panic Button Law comes into Force
On January 1, 2021, the Washington State Department’s Sexual Harassment and Assault Policy – RCW 49.60.515, sometimes simply referred to as the Panic Button Law, expands its reach to include all employers. Are you ready?
This year, the law applied to larger hotels only, but its scope is being expanded to cover anyone whose primary responsibilities involve working without another co-worker present. It specifically names janitors, security guards, hotel house keepers and room service attendants.
So, what’s required?
First and foremost, a “Panic Button” that enables the worker to request immediate help in case of an emergency.
- It should be simple to activate.
- The alarm should be recognisable.
- Those coming to help need to know where the person is located.
- The system needs to be robust and work in a variety of environments.
Ok Alone covers all of these needs and more:
- Panic Button
- Multiple Monitor Alerts
- Latest Location Information
- Man-down Protection
- High Risk Check-ins
- Audit Logs and Reports
- Start/End Shift Reminders
- Minimize False Alarms
- 24/7 Live Monitoring
- Safety Zone Protection (geo-fencing)
- Hands Free / Voice Activation
- From only $8/Worker/Month

Peace of Mind
When you have staff working off site or unsupervised this is a great app to help with Health and Safety. You can’t anticipate what may happen during the course of one’s day. This app provides a great option in mitigating a level of risk in combination with other processes and procedures. Nothing is more important than going home safe at the end of the day.

Very helpful
Used the app while working alone during the pandemic installing new lights in our church. Having an app like this while working on 15 ft high scaffolding was very helpful in convincing people that I could do this project alone. Excellent support with all my questions and requests answered immediately.

Highly recommend this service
Been using this for a while now. Only had 1 problem (was my end) but customer service was brilliant at trying to figure out the issue. Highly recommend this service for peace of mind if you are a lone worker.
