Your Job Role – Safety Officer
Overview
Being a Safety officer you need to provide safety management advice, monitoring and engage staff in programs that ensure safe practices in the workplace.
Ok Alone can help with your workload and simplifying some of your tasks by providing an automated safety solution that is easy to run and even easier to use.

Safety
Creating a safety culture within your company is crucial to reducing and mitigating risks. Introducing a new safety measure such as Ok Alone will help create that culture. Having frequent monthly meet ups to announce the results of the Safety Awards will also increase your safety meeting attendance.
Policies
A well thought out lone worker policy is a vital part of any workplace’s safety strategy. Ok Alone has blank policy templates that can be adapted to suit any workplace. And when combined with the latest in lone worker technology, you and your lone workers will feel confident knowing health and safety is everyone’s top priority.

Legislation
There is different legislation for lone workers in different cities, states, provinces and countries. Some regions are quite progressive in this matter and have specific work-alone legislation in place, while others may follow a more general “duty of care” clause and expect employees to use their common sense. Most legislation requires you to have a way of regularly communicating with staff throughout their shift either by phone or radio. It is recommended, if possible, that supervisors periodically visit or observe lone workers and that the employer or supervisor checks in with lone workers either by sight or verbally at the end of their shift or once specific tasks have been completed.
Compliance
Choosing not to comply with local legislation could result in staff being injured or killed and supervisors/management being fined, imprisoned or both.
Engagement
Ok Alone encourages people to use the solution by using an element of competition. Staff usage of the system’s features is ranked against others within their own company and other companies also using Ok Alone. People can earn badges and titles which offer a positive reinforcement of using the system.
Privacy
Ok Alone takes data privacy very seriously, making sure internal access to customer’s personal data is on a need to know basis. All users with access to personal data have individual logins and standard industry security practices are maintained.
Ok Alone customers also have a great deal of control over which people internally see personal data. There are three levels of user access rights for the Monitors, each of which grants different access to personal data. Workers do not have access personal data. All interaction between Workers and the system occurs through an encrypted connection with the app. Combined, this ensures people’s data stays private.
